Tehran to host Iran-Poland theater

Iran and Poland are set to perform a joint theater project titled ‘Isfahan, the City of Polish Children’ in Iranian capital city of Tehran.

The play penned by Mohammad Charmsheer and acted by a group of child and adolescent artists will be staged at Tehran’s City Theater from late November through early December.

The idea for such project was formed from some events during World War II when Isfahan as well other Iranian provinces provided shelter to a large group of Polish children and young adults.

The show will run for 8 days preceded by a performance at Isfahan’s Art Hall. For the documentary section of the presentation, some scenes are also incorporated from Khosrow Sinai’s ‘The Lost Requiem’ themed on Poland refugees in Iran during WWII.

In 2017, a group of Polish artists enacted a theater performance in Iran at an event marking anniversary of the arrival of Poland refugees in Iran.

‘Isfahan, the City of Polish Children’ is the version of such theater presentation.
