Germany welcomes Iran doc

Iranian documentary ‘Advantage’ receives welcome by audiences at the Dok Leipzig Film festival, Germany.

Directed by Mohammad Kart, the documentary was screened at the 60th edition of the German festival in the presence of the cast and crew.

‘Advantage’ written by Mohammad Kart and co-produced by Kart as well as Aban Askari is to experience its first international appearance in Leipzig, Germany.

Kart’s documentary is about some homeless addicts who take shelter in a rehab centre to quit and get better.

They have formed a football team, and in order to register their team among other clubs in Tehran, they must defeat Esteqlal Veterans which has once been the Asian champion. Now the Municipality has decided to close down the center.

Founded in 1955 DOK Leipzig is the oldest documentary festival in the world, but from its first edition on animated films were part of the program which today extends into cross media art.

The program includes international competitions for long and short documentary and animated films as well as for animated documentary.

The event is currently underway from October 30-November 05, 2017.
