Croatia awards Iran short film

‘Lunch Time’ has received award at the Student International Film Festival in Croatia.

Produced and directed by Alireza Ghasemi, 'Lunch Time' grabbed the award for the best fiction film at the 2017 edition of the event.

The 15-minute ‘Lunch Time’ is about a high school girl who has come to the hospital to identify the body of her mother. The people in charge at the hospital would not let her into the morgue because of her young age.

The short film has been nominated for a Palme d’Or at the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Among the cast members of ‘Lunch Time’ are Khorshid Cheraqipour, Roya Bakhtiari, Amir Taqdiri, Peyman Naemi, Siavash Cheraqipour, Bahram Omrani, Pouria Akhavan, Mohammad Haddadi, Alireza Qasemi, Mehdi Yeganeh, and Arash Qasemi.

STIFF is Croatia’s first International Film Festival dedicated entirely to student films.

The purpose of the festival is strengthening the local film and video industry by allowing an insight into the work of other filmmakers, encouraging the development of new ideas and establishing an international collaboration in the field of media production.
