Iranian animation ‘Empty View’ directed by Ali Zare Ghanatnowi has won the best animation award at The UK Monthly Film Festival.
‘Empty View’, depicting an Iranian old woman awaiting the return of her missing son from the battle ground of the imposed war, won the award at the festival’s latest edition held online.
The animation was designed and produced during two years. It combines the 2D and 3D animation techniques for the first time in Iranian cinema on such scale.
The UK Monthly Film Fest is a monthly film festival offering filmmakers from around the world the opportunity to showcase their work. Because it is held monthly, filmmakers will be able to get feedback on their films quickly as to whether they have been officially selected or in fact if they are winners of one of the ten categories.
In addition to this selected entries the winners will be offered the chance to have their work displayed on the festival's website for public viewing and this is provided free.
All officially selected films will receive official laurels and winners receive an electronic certificate (upon request) plus winners’ laurels. Winners will also be entered automatically into the best of the best competition in April 2018
