Winner artists have been praised at the 11th Tehran International Cartoon Biennial, in three sections of caricature, thematic, and free.
Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art hosted the final day of the festival, where the biennial’s winners were announced during a ceremony.
In the thematic competition section, the grand prize of $8000 went to Sajjad Rafei from Iran, while artists from Russia, Iran and Serbia ranked first to third. In the caricature section, the top prize was awarded to Bruno Hamzagic from Brazil, with two artists from Iran following, and in the free cartoon section, Mahnaz Yazdani from Iran snatched the first prize, and artists from Spain and Australia ranked next.
Starting with the top prize in each category (thematic, caricature and free cartoon, respectively), here’s a selection of the works showcased in the festival.
And the last one was Iran's museum of contemporary arts in Tehran. Don't miss it if you happen to travel to Iran.
