Iran cinemas to screen ‘Paper House’

Iranian feature film ‘Paper House’ directed by Mehdi Sabbaghzadeh has been scheduled to go on screen across the country from December 20, 2017.

The flick tells the story of a middle-aged man and his daughter who are both journalists. The father has put aside writing for a long time. But, when the woman he once loved returns and reveals some buried and never-spoken secrets, he decides to take up his career.

Popular Iranian actors and actresses Parviz Parastoui, Tina Pakravan, Sorayya Qasemi, Setareh Eskandari, Mehdi Pakdel, Alireza Kamali and Hossein Pakdel are on cast list of ‘Paper House’.

Tehran’s Cinema Museum as well as Kourosh, Azadi and Zendegi cinema complexes are among the venues that will host the movie screenings in Tehran.

Born in 1951, Sabbaghzadeh is an Iranian editor, movie producer and director who started out his cinematic career by making some experimental works, documentaries and short films.

He made his directorial debut in 1981 with ‘Sun Residents’, and then produced, edited and wrote the script for some of his works.

Sabbaghzadeh has made several movies, including ‘Missing’, ‘The Last Picture’, ‘Grey Years’, ‘The Game is Over’, ‘The Migrants’, ‘A Search on the Island’, ‘The Empty House’, ‘Good Days of Life’, ‘The Stuntmen’, ‘Love Isn't Enough’, ‘Maral’, ‘Breakfast for Two’, ‘The Proposal for 50 Million’, ‘The Taxi Driver’, ‘Earth and Fire’ and ‘The Senator’ (recently aired by ifilm).

His movie ‘The Empty House’ was nominated for a number of Crystal Simorghs at the 10th Fajr International Film Festival, going on to win awards for Best Script, Best Actor in a Leading Role and Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
