Iranian animator is to make animated short film ‘Sewing Machine’, produced by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC).
The animator, Najmeh Hashem al-Hosseini, was quoted by the media as saying that the animation runs 7 mins without any dialogue, adding the characters for the film was already designed.
Hashem al-Hosseinialo said that ‘Sewing Machine’ narrates the story of a single mother earning her living from sewing. Her little daughter has naughty behavior in the sewing workshop where the mother works.
My personal contact with the mother and her daughter was the main reason encouraging me to make the short film, the director also noted.
Given that the animation has no dialogue, sound and design are the main elements in the short animation.
The DEFC is the main center for production, distribution and promotion of documentary, animated and experimental pictures in the Middle East. It is based in Iranian capital city of Tehran.
