Iran Oscar winner named among top films

Asghar Farhadi’s ‘The Salesman’ has won a spot among best 2017 movies chosen by US review aggregation website “Rotten Tomatoes.”

Also written by Farhadi, the movie received 96 points out of 170 critiques.

The film tells the story of a young couple named Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) who move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. But an incident linked to the previous tenant dramatically changes their life.

The movie won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards in 2017 as well as grabbing double awards for Best Screenplay and Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival a year before the Oscar achievement.
