The 4th edition of the Diseases International Short Film and Art Festival (FICAE) in Spain has set to screen two Iranian short films.
The short films to represent Iran at the Spanish event are ‘Tonight’ directed by Rana Safiyari and ‘Mom and Dad’ directed by Shirin Qaredaghi.
The 19-minute ‘Tonight’ depicts the story of a mother and her two daughters from morning to night. The mother and her daughters are acted out by Fariba Khademi, Elnaz Shahbazi and Nafiseh Karimi.
The 7-minute ‘Mom and Dad’ is about part of a filmmaker’s life in a simple and short narration. “Every film that I make becomes true, I understood this from my first film; the sad aspect of the first one is that it was about my mom and dad,” the film’s synopsis read.
The festival will also screen ‘The Silence’ by Iranian filmmaker Ali Asgari.
FICAE is a short film festival held annually in Valencia. The purpose of this festival is to promote social awareness about diseases as a process of life in order to help them.
In addition, the festival seeks to promote artistic creation through audiovisual language to make it more visible and transmit knowledge about diseases, both those that involve changes to the physical state, and those that are considered as social diseases and their consequences.
FICAE is an initiative of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the association VINCLES and the Chatedra Art and Diseases.
The 4th edition of the Diseases International Short Film and Art Festival (4FICAE) is slated for February 23-March 3, 2018.
