The United Nations has joined Iranian cinema experts in the production of climate change film ‘Save the Earth’.
Iranian animator Amin Haqshenas and actor Jaleh Olov collaborated with the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in the production of animated feature ‘Save the Earth’, a story about climate change and its consequences for the earth, the UN Information Center in Tehran announced.
‘Save the Earth’, directed by Haqshenas and narrated by Olov, was financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The film has been produced in line with UNIDO’s project ‘Industrial Energy Efficiency in Key Sectors’.
The project intended to promote energy efficiency in five key sectors by adopting a national framework for Energy Management Standards.
“Producing this animation in Farsi aimed to introduce the consequences of climate change for industries,” said Nasim Shekari, the national coordinator of the project.
The UN plan was implemented from August 2012 to July 2017.
