The 9th edition of the Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts has kicked off in Tehran.
Opened in the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art on Sunday, the event honored those who were active in promoting the festival during the past year including news agencies, publications, and cultural offices.
Some 125 artworks including 53 art projects and 72 standalone pieces have been sent to the festival.
The competition section of the festival hosts a total of 102 artworks. Also 65 provincial artists and 45 from the capital Tehran are present at the festival.
Ten foreign artists, from the US, Belgium and Brazil, are also attending the Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts alongside celebrated Iranian artists.
Center for Visual Arts of Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in collaboration with the Institute for Development of Contemporary Visual Arts will hold the ninth Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts with the aim of introducing the pure ideas and novel and creative art and research creations in February 2017.
The Festival Organizers hereby invite all artists and researchers throughout the world to participate in this artistic event.
From early January untill mid February, several festivals are held under the banner of ‘Fajr’ (also spelled as Fadjr) on the occasion of the 10-Day Dawn (Fajr) Festivities to mark the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
