Pair of Iran films headed to Bulgaria fest

Iranian films ‘Season of Narges’ and ‘Italy, Italy’ have been selected to screen at the 10th Sofia MENAR International Film Festival in Bulgaria.

‘Season of Narges’ will enjoy three showings from January 12, the fest's offcial website read, adding, ‘Italy, Italy’ screens from January 14 on the same number of runs at the Sofia MENAR (Middle East & North Africa Region) event.

‘Season of Narges’ has been directed and written by Negar Azerbaijani while Kaveh Sabaghzadeh was at the helm of ‘Italy, Italy’.

‘Season of Narges’ depicts a romantic narrative of ordinary people amid the chaotic and egoistic modern lifestyle, who have not lost the purity of their souls and minds, and who enjoy being human and loving others.

‘Italy, Italy’ is a film in the musical, fantasy and comedy genre. The plot of ‘Italy Italy’ reads, “I love you and it is none of your business.”

Sofia MENAR Film Festival makes Bulgarian audiences familiar with the culture and traditions of the Islamic world, the website of the festival wrote.

The program of Sofia MENAR Film Festival presents the best of Middle East and North Africa cinema productions, including feature films, documentaries and short projects.

The 10th edition of the festival will be held in the Bulgarian capital city of Sofia from January 12-28.
