Two Iranian films start screening at the Iranian theaters.
Director Amir Ahmad Ansari’s film ‘Rabies’ had its domestic premiere on Monday, three years after its production.
The film stars Mina Sadati and Milad Keymaram, and tells the story of Shahrokh and Siavash, two friends who have solidified a criminal path after setting a trap for a rich criminal and robbing him of all his fortune.
The film received rave reviews after screening at several international events, including the Zanzibar International Film Festival in Tanzania.
Another film is Majid Majidi’s drama ‘Beyond the Clouds’, which was filmed in India in 2017.
‘Beyond the Clouds’ had its premiere at a Tehran venue earlier this week, which was attended by Majidi and a large number of Iranian cineastes and will start the public screening next week.
The film stars Ishaan Khattar, Malavika Mohanan and Sharada, and tells the story of a young boy, Amir, and his sister, Tara, in Mumbai.
When on the run from the cops, Amir finds his estranged sister, who in a bid to protect her brother lands in jail. Their entire lives are clouded by despair when, unexpectedly, the light shines on them from beyond the clouds.
