Egypt-based Ismailia International Film Festival has scheduled to rescreen award-winning Iranian short ‘Glimmer’.
Directed by Omid Abdollahi, the film is about an old optician who plans to close his optical shop due to his poor eyesight. A client who has not come back to receive her spectacles twists the flick plot.
According to a local media report, ‘Glimmer’ which was awarded at the 16th edition of Ismailia International Film Festival in 2013 with Jury Prize in the Short Fiction Competition will be rescreened in the latest installment of the event.
The section is devoted to awarded films in previous section of the fest.
The 2015 Sapporo International Short Film Festival in Japan also screened the notable Iranian film.
Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentary and Short Films takes place every year in Egyptian city of Ismailia to promote an intercultural dialogue for a deeper understanding of others by presenting their creative works to the audience and to encourage filmmakers of documentary and short films.
The 20th edition of the Ismailia filmfest is slated for April 11-17, 2018.
