The 36th Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) has added 7 international titles to screen in its ‘Classics Preserved’ section.
More than 600 filmmakers from 35 countries have applied to take part in the FIFF, with as many as 300 entries in the feature film category, the event’s official website announced.
Four Iranian films will join the seven foreign classic selections to be screened during the special program titled 'Classics Preserved', with titles of the latter additions to be announced later.
The FIFF has started accepting submissions since November 1, 2017, with the entry deadline passing on March 1, 2018.
The international version of the Fajr festival is to start in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on April 19 and lasts until April 27.
The Fajr International Film Festival is held by the Farabi Cinema Foundation, an extension of the country’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
This is while, the domestic version of the Fajr Film Festival has come to an end on February 11, with the announcement of winners from Iran.
