Iran cinema online encyclopedia to be launched

Iran cinema encyclopedia website named 'cicinema' is set to be inaugurated on the opening day of the 36th Fajr International Film Festival.

An official English encyclopedia 'cicinema' has been created for the film enthusiasts to obtain information on Iranian cinema and filmmaking.

'cicinema' will be available to the users on the opening day of the 36th Fajr International Festival.

The encyclopedia aims at providing the international audiences of Iranian movies to have a comprehensive reference to discover Iranian cinema.

'So far, there hasn't been such an archive available in English', says the executive director of the project, Iraj Taqipour.

He adds, 'Seven month through the project, we have gathered 10500 films in English and uploaded on the website.'

Fajr International Film Festival provides a unique platform for an interchange of professional experience and international meetings.

The 36th edition of Fajr International Film Festival is scheduled to be held April 19-27, 2018 in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
