Iranian actress holds workshop in US

Renowned Iranian actress Shabnam Moqaddami has held workshop in the cities of Dallas and Los Angeles, the US.

The AramArt Institute in the Dallas suburb of Plano, Texas, hosted Moqaddami's workshop from March 13-15, 2018.

She left the city to organize another workshop at the Pacific Arts Center and Dance Studio in Los Angeles on March 17-18.

Iranian cinematographer Mahmoud Kalari and director Hatef Alimardani also held master classes and workshops during the same programs.

Born in 1972, Moqaddami earned a degree in Persian Literature and participated in Amin Tarokh’s acting classes.

She made her radio debut in 1988 and in the same year took her first role in ‘The Wounded’. Moqaddami has also tried her hand at radio performing.

So far, she has appeared in series ‘Under the Blade’, ‘Fall of an Angel’, ‘Seven Stones’ and ‘Madineh’ from 2006 to 2014.

Her films from 2000 to 2012 include ‘From My Heart’, ‘In the Name of Father’, ‘There's Always a Woman Involved’, ‘The Child and the Angel’, ‘Kissing the Face of the Moon’, ‘The Lab’ and ‘Mirror and Candlestick’.

Moqaddami won the Crystal Simorgh of the Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her appearance in ‘Breath’ and ‘Zapas’ from the 34th edition of Fajr Film Festival.

The educational programs have been organized by the Sheed Film studio in Dallas. The studio is also the organizer of the Sheed Persian Film Festival.
