California festival to screen six Iran films

Six Iranian films have been selected to go on screen at the Tiburon International Film Festival in the US state of California.

The Tiburon festival will screen popular Iranian films such as ‘Conditional Release’, ‘Azar’, ‘Manicure’ and ‘Limit’ during the festival from April 20-27.

Also included are the Iranian shorts ‘Tulsa’ by Parviz Shojaei and ‘Zona’ by Tufan Nahanqodrati.

Hossein Shahabi’s ‘Conditional Release’ is about a convict who is released after a long period in prison.

Mohammad Hamzei’s debut ‘Azar’ tells the story of a woman who, on a dusty motocross track, is as confident, capable and deeply committed as she is to the fledgling pizzeria that she runs with her husband, Amir.

Director Arman Fayyaz’s short film ‘Manicure’ is about a woman who committed suicide and sets to storm an emotional debate between villagers over her manicured fingernails.

‘Limit’ by Javad Darai puts the spotlight on the problems faced by the physically challenged in society.

The Tiburon International Film Festival (TIFF) is an annual event, which seeks to provide a greater understanding of the world and its many cultures through the artistic medium of film, and through the top quality films from around the world.
