Iran has published cinematic novel catering to young adults with a focus on Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The novel using a new narrative technique mixing words and pictures with a cinematic approach highlights the role of Ayatollah Khamenei in uprisings which happened in the holy city of Mashhad before the Islamic Revolution.
The title fits the target audience of adolescents, making them more familiar with their leader’s character and his role in staging the Islamic Revolution in the country.
Half of the book offers large images, narrating part of the story independent of the lexical section.
The titular character, ‘Choghok’, is a teenager performing major revolutionary acts despite his young age. The character was closely in touch with Ayatollah Khamenei who gave him the title ‘Choghok’ meaning smart or razor-sharp in Mashhadi dialect.
