Iran war flick to make bow at Fajr

Iran flick 'Dayan' themed on war is scheduled to make bow at Fajr International Film Festival as well as the event’s film market.

New offering of acclaimed ‘A 157’ director will be shown in the “Broken Olive Branches” of the fest which focuses on Islamic world events.

Behrouz Nooranipour’s ‘Dayan’ narrates the future of a war--people who live in a village, trying hard for a better future and people who have experienced war.

‘A 157’ grabbed Best Documentary award at the 34th Fajr Film Festival in Tehran, making appearances in several international film events.

‘The doc follows the story of horrors of war and terrorism in Syria, highlighting the female narrative of the tragedy in the Arab country.

Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

Directed by Reza Mirkarimi, the 36th edition of the festival is slated for April 19-27, 2018, in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
