'The Salesman' to vie for set, costume design

Collection of Iran notable flicks is set to vie at Tehran International Symposium on Set and Costume Design with Farhadi's Oscar-tipped on the list.

The select films include Oscar-winning ‘The Salesman’ by Asghar Farhadi,  Hamid Nematollah’s ‘Subdued’, Ebrahim Irajzad’s ‘Searing Summer’ and ‘Sperm Whale 2’ by Saman Moghadam.

The list goes on to include ‘Simple Worker Needed’ by Manouchehr Hadi and ‘5 PM’ by Mehran Modiri, among others.

“The first edition was held in April 2016, reviewing the set and costume designs in the theatrical productions; however, cinema has been added to the second edition,” the secretary of the symposium, Akbar Jalili, who is also the founder of the symposium, said in a press release.

Supported by Iran Theater Forum as well as Association of Costume Designers, the second run of the symposium will be held April 27-May 4 in Iranian capital city of Tehran.
