Iranian short animation ‘Blows with the Wind’ has been set to be screened at the 50th edition of the Fotogramma d'Oro Short Film Festival in Italy.
Directed by Hazhir As’adi, the short animation is to attend the competition section of the Italian event. The festival has selected a total of 53 titles from some 244 submissions.
'Blows with the Wind' narrates the story of a scarecrow that faces some unpleasant events. The scarecrow becomes human and breaks away from those situations.
On the way he sees two other scarecrows whose conditions are not better than that of him. Thus he is on the horns of a dilemma and must make a hard decision.
Almost 20 international film festivals have so far hosted the animation ‘Blows with the Wind’ in 2018. It won the Best Short Film Award at the 3rd TweetFest Film Festival in the UK.
Department of Culture and Entertainment of the Municipality of Messina, the Italian Association for the History of Cinema Research (AIRSC) and Association of former students of the University of Messina (AluMnime) have cooperated to organize the Fotogramma d'Oro.
The 50th edition of the Fotogramma d'Oro (meaning Golden Frame) is slated for May 23-26, 2018, in Messina, Italy.
