In an ifilm exclusive report, ‘When Did You See Sahar Last Time?’ director Farzad Motamen has highlighted innovation and addressing the public as two reasons for the success of the flick.
According to the director, for the first time he has tried to make a movie closer to the cinema industry of Iran. Technically speaking, in the shooting process they have placed the cameras on the shoulders while this technique has become obsolete for a long time.
Mr Motamen also says that it was innovative for him to make police movie and to deal with action genre. “I do not want to limit myself to a few genres,” said the director.
He believes that he is experienced enough to try his hand at police genre.
To explain the other aspect of success for ‘When Did You See Sahar Last Time?’ he says that It is a movie which was made for the public. It is a movie which explores the issue of violence. It is a subject that people spend money for because it is about a social issue that exists in our society. That’s why the film is successful at box office chart.
The film tells the story of a girl going missing. A worried mother gets into a police station and says her young daughter, Sahar, has gone out last night and did not return.
The film cast includes Fariborz Arabnia, Siamak Safari, Atila Pesyani, Zhaleh Sameti, Mohammad-Reza Ghaffari, Anahita Dargahi, Roshanak Gerami, Ammar Tafti, and Shabnam Farshadjou.
