Renowned Iranian actress Sorayya Qasemi was born in Tehran, inheriting a legacy from her mother, late actress Hamideh Kheirabadi known as the 'Mother of Iranian Cinema'.

Beginning as a radio host in the 1960s, Sorayya transitioned to the stage and eventually made her mark in cinema with 'Calmness in the Presence of Others' (1970).

Her career flourished with roles in films like 'Long Live' (1979), 'The Courtship' (1989), and 'Proud' (2006), making her a fixture in Iranian cinema.

Television also embraced Sorayya, with hits like 'Under Your Protection' (1995) and 'The Tenth Night' (2001). Her versatility shone through in series such as 'The Mirror' (1985-1987) and 'The Pahlavi Hat' (2012-2013).

A recipient of the Crystal Simorgh at the Fajr International Film Festival for 'Maral' (2000), Sorayya's talent extended to supporting roles, earning her accolades, notably from the Iran Cinema Celebration Awards.

In 2016, she added another Crystal Simorgh for Best Supporting Actress for 'The Villa Resident'.
