Iran is set to observe Eid al‑Ghadir and mark Imam Khomeini’s passing anniversary.
On Thursday, Iran observes Eid al‑Ghadir, one of the most significant occasions in the Islamic calendar, while also marking the anniversary of the passing of Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic.
Eid al‑Ghadir commemorates the event of Ghadir Khumm, where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) declared Imam Ali (AS) as his successor.
Religious ceremonies, sermons, and gatherings are scheduled to be held in mosques and cultural centers across the country.
The day also coincides with the annual commemoration of Imam Khomeini’s passing in1989.
Both occasions will be observed through religious and memorial events across the country.
