The 38th  International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Iran has announced the call for submissions, with a section themed on Minab's Children.

The 38th  International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Iran has announced the call for submissions, with a section themed on Minab's Children.

According to the announcement by the Iranian Farabi Cinema Foundation, the festival will feature both national and international sections and will include competitive and non‑competitive programs.

Eligible works include feature films, short fiction films, documentaries, animation, and productions created using artificial intelligence.

In the main competition, Iranian and international films will compete in feature and short film categories. Winning filmmakers will receive the festival’s top awards across several categories. As in previous editions, a jury made up of children and teenagers will also select its own favorite film.

The festival will also host several special sections. One of these titled 'Minab Martyrs' will focus on stories about children affected by war and conflict.

On the first day of the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran on February 28, the Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school in the southern Iranian city of Minab was targeted in a US missile strike, killing people, including several schoolchildren.

Another section will review selected children’s and youth films that have recently been shown in cinemas, on television, or on streaming platforms.

Filmmakers can submit their entries and screening copies between June 20 and August 23, 2026.
