Morteza Akhoundi, a Hormozgani photographer, succeeded in winning first place in the "News Photography" section of the prestigious Golden Shot Photography Awards 2026 in an international competition.
The success was achieved by recording and presenting an aerial image of the funeral and burial of 168 martyred students in Minab, a photo that was very influential in the world and attracted the attention of the international jury of the event.
In the final results of this section, Bartosz Matenko from Poland and Mohammed Muhtasib from Saudi Arabia won second and third places, respectively.
