Parviz Pourhosseini
Pourhosseini, Parviz (born September 11, 1941, Tehran – died November 27, 2020, Tehran)
Parviz Pourhosseini graduated in Performance Arts from Tehran University's Faculty of Fine Arts.
He began taking acting classes in 1960 by participating in a night course at the Dramatic Arts Office.
The next year, he appeared in Hamid Samandarian's play ‘The Man with a Flower in His Mouth’.
The same year he collaborated with Samandarian and other artists and formed a troupe named Pasargad.
He then began to work at the Theater Office for two years and appeared in a number of plays.
Since 1969, Pourhosseini has appeared in more than 60 plays and 60 films.
He has taken part in movies such as ‘Kamal-ol-Molk’ (1983), ‘The Relationship’ (1985), ‘The Man Who Became a Mouse' (1985), ‘Mirage’ (1986), ‘The Angelica’ (1988), ‘The Night it Happened’ (1988), ‘Angel Day’ (1993), ‘The Fifth Chapter’ (1996), and ‘Leila's Sleep’ (2007).
He has also played in several series, including ‘Truth Revealed’ (1990), ‘Once Upon a Time’ (1991-1992), ‘The Chef’ (1995), ‘Saint Mary’ (2000), ‘The Tenth Night’ (2001), ‘The First Night of Peace’ (2005), ‘Like No One’ (2008), ‘The Rise of Mokhtar’ (2004-2009), ‘Madness of Love’ (2011), ‘Seven Stones’ (2014), and ‘Michael’ (2015).
Pourhosseini was nominated for Fajr International Film Festival Crystal Simorghs for Best Male Actor in a Leading Role for ‘The Spell’ (1986) and ‘Avinar’ (1991).
He also received the Fajr International Film Festival Certificate of Merit for his role in 'Saint Mary' (2000).
