Iran short wins big at Brazilian fest

The Brazil International Monthly Independent Film Festival (BIMIFF) in Brazil has awarded Iranian short flick ‘Angels Do Not Die’.

Alireza Biglari has succeeded to grab the Best actor and Best Director awards for his 9-minute short film at the 6th edition of the Brazilian film event which took place in January 2021.

On his social media page, Biglari has dedicated the film to the first Iranian nurse who sacrificed her life to save others’ during the first weeks of the coronavirus pandemic in Iran.

He also dedicated his work to all hospital staffs that help saving human lives around the world.

‘Angels Do Not Die’ tells the story of a doctor who has contracted the novel coronavirus while helping those infected with the disease.

He goes home, but his soul is upset and depressed by what he has seen during the time in the hospital and the ICU.

However, eventually hope is revived with the encouragement of the world.

The short film has already been showcased at various global events, including the Berlin Flash Film Festival in Germany, the I Will Tell Int’l Film Festival in the UK and the Mont. Blanc Int’l Film Festival in France.

The BIMIFF is an online film event gives filmmakers from around the world to interact with other professionals in the business while showcasing their creative products.
