'Salman the Persian' season one due autumn 2026

The producer of the highly anticipated Iranian historical series 'Salman the Persian' has confirmed that production is moving forward.

The producer of the highly anticipated Iranian historical series 'Salman the Persian' has confirmed that production is moving forward, with the first season scheduled to premiere in autumn 2026.

According to local media reports, producer Hossein Taheri said that filming for the Iran season has already commenced, and the team is working to ensure the series airs as planned this coming autumn.

Taheri described the first season as comprising approximately 35 episodes, each 60 minutes long. He noted that the season offers a fast-paced narrative of a key chapter in the life of Salman the Persian.

"In this season," he said, "we have tried to showcase the grandeur of Iran and its civilizational perspective through the story of Salman's life."

The producer also shed light on the series' two subsequent seasons. He explained that the story will continue with Salman's migration to the Levant (Greater Syria), where the Byzantium season will take shape.

The third season, he added, will follow Salman's arrival in the land of Hijaz and his quest to find Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), focusing on the events of early Islam.

Addressing the technical aspects of the multilingual production, Taheri said that due to the involvement of actors from various nationalities speaking Armenian, Greek, Arabic, and Persian, it was essential to create a uniform and refined linguistic tone for the series.

Due to this, the dubbing process has already begun, and the Byzantium season is at the studio for post-production.

Salman the Persian originally known as Salman Farsi was a Persian religious scholar and one of the companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Written and directed by Davoud Mirbaqeri, the series consists of three seasons: 'Ancient Iran', 'Byzantium', and 'Hijaz'.
