A portrait of Iranian director Gholamreza Ramezani

Gholamreza Ramezani, born in 1960 in Arak, Iran, is a well-known Iranian director, known for making movies and TV shows for children and teenagers.

Some of his most famous works include TV series like 'Baharan in Spring’, 'Grannies' School', and the movie 'Runaway from Camp'.

Ramezani started his career as a filmmaker in 1993 when he was 33 years old. He directed a movie called 'Pass the Trap' and worked with famous actors like Davoud Rashidi, Habib Dehqan-Nasab, Shamsi Fazlollahi, and Abdolreza Fayyazi.

One of the most important parts of Ramezani's career is his work on 'Baharan in Spring’. He directed this series when he was 35 in 1996, and it made him famous in the television industry.

He collaborated with actors like Reza Khodadad, Reza Babak, Parvin Meykadeh, and Homa Khakpash, which transformed his career significantly.

In 1997, at the age of 36, Ramezani directed another TV series called 'Grannies' School’, where he worked with artists like Mehri Vadadian, Farokhlaqa Houshmand, Parvin Dokht Yazdaniyan, and others.

Even though Ramezani is best known as a director, he has also worked in other parts of the film industry. He has written scripts, designed sets and costumes, edited films, and even acted.

Some of his notable works as a writer include 'Runaway from Castle Rudkhan’, 'Runaway from Camp’, 'Little Sparrow’, 'The Game’, 'Small Green’, 'Locksmith’, 'Play’, 'Wheel’, ‘Baharan in Spring’, ‘Pass the Trap’, and ‘Red Fountain's Secret’.

In 2007, at the age of 47, Ramazani garnered a nomination for the Crystal Simorgh Award for Best Screenplay at the 26th Fajr Film Festival, recognizing his exceptional work on the film ‘A Small Green’.

An intriguing part of Ramezani's career lies in his engagement within both the realms of television and cinema.

Among the 13 entries in his professional portfolio, a substantial 76% comprise cinematic works, while the remaining 24% are attributed to television productions.
