‘The Fateful Day’ made accessible for visually impaired

Iranian drama ‘The Fateful Day’ is made accessible for the blind by the CEVINA Group.

Iranian epic historical drama ‘The Fateful Day’ has been made accessible for the visually impaired audiences by the CEVINA Group.

Iranian voice actor and TV host, Afshin Zeynouri, has done the audio described performance of the classical film, written by Bahram Beizaee and directed by Shahram Asadi.

The new version of the film has been made ready by the CEVINA group (Cinema for Visually Impaired Audience), supervised by actress Gelareh Abbasi.

The film will be broadcast on radio CEVINA on Thursday. It will then be available on the group’s official website.

‘The Fateful Day’ is about the Ashura (the tenth day of Muharram), which marks the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Imam Hussein (AS) was martyred along with his 72 companions in the Battle of Karbala, in southern Iraq, in 680 AD after fighting courageously for justice against thousands of soldiers of the Umayyad caliph, Yazid I.

The film’s cast includes Ezzatollah Entezami, Jamshid Mashayekhi, Zhaleh Olov and Alireza Shoja-Nouri.

ifilm English channel is also set to air the English-dubbed version of the movie on August 29, 2020.
