Iranian director Hossein Soheilizadeh under iFilm spotlight

Thanks to the ongoing airing of two TV series, 'Solace of the Heart' and 'The Last Invitation’, on the iFilm English network, we have the opportunity to become more familiar with Iranian director Hossein Soheilizadeh.

Soheilizadeh, born in 1960, is a film and television director from Iran. He is known for his work in Iranian cinema and TV.  Some of his most notable works include directing TV series like ‘Parya’, ‘Worlds Apart’, '3-5-2', 'The Final Game', 'The Daughters of Eve', 'A Mother's Song', 'Family Restaurant' and ‘The Sound of Rain’, which were featured on iFilm English.

Soheilizadeh's journey into directing began in his youth when he dabbled in amateur filmmaking. Later, he pursued academic studies in Social Sciences.

He officially entered the film industry in 1990, starting as an assistant director on Abulhassan Davoudi's feature film ‘The Magical Journey’.

Soheilizadeh embarked on his professional career in television, with his first TV production being a fictional documentary titled ‘The First Step’ in 1997.

In 2010, at the age of 50, Hossein Soheilizadeh directed the series ‘Worlds Apart’, which was also aired on iFilm English. This series featured actors like Danial Hakimi, late Hassan Joharchi, Fatemeh Goudarzi, Maryam Kaviani, and Sougal Tahmasbi, further enhancing his reputation as a director.

In 2016, at the age of 56, Soheilizadeh directed the series ‘Parya’, a significant milestone in his career.

Collaborating with actors such as Ladaneh Mostofi, Amirhossein Arman, Mahmoud Pakniet, and Afsaneh Bayegan, this series showcased his directorial skills.

Soheilizadeh has also been involved in various aspects of the entertainment industry. In addition to directing, he has worked as a producer and first assistant director in both film and television.

His notable productions as a producer include the series ‘Saber's Grove’ and ‘Deception’. He also served as the first assistant director in the film ‘Hello! I'm Joojoo!’.

Soheilizadeh has had a prolific career in Iranian television and has explored different facets of the entertainment industry. His works have been well-received by audiences, and he is acknowledged for his contributions to Iranian cinema and television.
