A portrait of film editor Mohammad-Reza Moeeni

Mohammad-Reza Moeeni, born in 1957 in Iran’s Hamedan Province, is one of the most renowned film editors in Iranian cinema.

With a career spanning over several decades, Moeeni has made significant contributions to both the art and technical aspects of film editing, working on a wide range of influential films.

His expertise has earned him numerous awards, including the Crystal Simorgh for best editing at the Fajr International Film Festival and several other prestigious accolades.

Moeeni’s career has been marked by his membership in the board of directors of the Iranian Association of Film Editors for six terms, as well as his involvement in the board of directors of the House of Cinema during its fifth and sixth terms.

Throughout his career, Moeeni has collaborated on a variety of films, from dramatic and historical narratives to contemporary pieces, showing his talent.

Some of the notable films he has worked on include ‘The Bride’, ‘The Painting Pool’, ‘Mina's Choice’, and ‘The Kingdom of Solomon, the Prophet’, which have been aired on iFilm English TV.

These films are just a glimpse of his extensive portfolio that spans numerous iconic Iranian films, such as ‘The Desert Eagle’ (2011), ‘Symphony No. 9’ (2018), and ‘21 Days Later’ (2016).

His contributions to films such as ‘The Snowman’ (2001), ‘The Party’ (2000), and ‘Sa'adat Abad’ (2010) have left a significant mark on the Iranian film industry.
