Hamid Khozouee Abyaneh, born in 1963 in Tehran, embarked on his journey in photography, delving into English language and Cinematography studies to master his craft.

Transitioning from professional advertising photography, he traversed Iran, capturing a diverse array of images spanning environmental, historical, and social themes.

In 1990, Khozouee delved into filmmaking, initially exploring documentaries and short films.

His cinematic vision soon garnered acclaim both domestically and internationally.

Notable among his cinematic endeavors are great works such as ‘So Close, So Far Away’, ‘Muhammad: The Messenger of God’, ‘A Cube of Sugar’, ‘The Lost Strait’, and ‘The Kingdom of Solomon, the Prophet’, which resonate deeply with iFilm audiences.

Throughout his career, Khozouee collaborated with esteemed directors and industry luminaries, including Reza Mir-Karimi, Bahram Tavakkoli and Majid Majidi.

Some noteworthy accolades adorn his portfolio, including Crystal Simorgh awards for outstanding cinematography in ‘Gholamreza Takhti’, ‘So Close, So Far Away’ and ‘Here, A Shining Light’.

A defining moment in Khozouee's career came with his collaboration as a cameraman with three-time Academy Award-winning cinematographer Vittorio Storaro in ‘Muhammad: The Messenger of God’ (2015) directed by Majid Majidi.
